The 3rd WUMF World Championships, held on September 20–21 in Crawley, UK, brought together over 1,200 athletes from 32 countries—and once again, Sport Karate Coalition proudly took part in this prestigious international event.

Held at the well-known K2 Sports Centre in Crawley, just outside London, the championships offered not only top-tier competition but also a great opportunity to showcase the strength, discipline, and unity of our team.

Second Year, Even Stronger Results

This was our second consecutive year participating in the WUMF World Championships, and this time we came back even stronger. Thanks to the proximity of the venue to London, where we are based, we were able to bring a large team of 25 athletes, representing our SKC club with pride.Although WUMF is a relatively young organization, the rapid growth of the federation was clearly visible this year—from the number of participating countries to the high level of competition in every category.
Individual and Team Success

Everyone Brought Home a Medal. Our athletes competed in kata and kumite, both in individual and team categories. Despite a very short preparation period of only two and a half weeks after the summer break, every member of our team stepped onto the mats with determination and focus. The most remarkable achievement? Every single athlete returned home with a medal. That speaks volumes about their commitment, the quality of training, and the team spirit that carried us through the event.
High Emotions, Unforgettable Moments

These two days were packed with emotions—joy, tension, excitement, and even a few tears. For many of our athletes, this was their first time competing at such a high level, making their success even more meaningful. The atmosphere throughout the competition was friendly and respectful. While the fights on the tatami were fierce, there was a strong sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among competitors from around the world. It was also a valuable cultural and social experience for our young athletes.
A Team Effort – Thank You All

Events of this scale require not only athletes but a full team working behind the scenes. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to:
🔹 Our coaching team: Michel, Ula, Tomek, Edyta – Your dedication, coordination, and calm under pressure were vital. With multiple matches happening simultaneously on different tatami, your support made all the difference.
🔹 Our media team: Dominic, Olivia, Weronika, Piotr – Thank you for capturing these incredible moments. The photos and videos will allow us to relive this experience for years to come.
🔹 Milena – For keeping track of all the results and data. With so many competitors from our club, your attention to detail was invaluable.

Special thanks also go to the organizers and to WUMF President Elango Mark for putting together such a professionally run and inspiring championship.
Final Reflections – What It Means to Be a Champion

As we reflect on this experience, we encourage all our athletes to ask themselves a few important questions:
• Did I train consistently and with purpose?
• Did I give 100% in every training session?
• Did I continue training during the summer break?
Because in the end, if you want to be a champion—you have to train like one. Success doesn’t come by accident; it’s the result of hard work, sacrifice, and discipline.
We’re proud of every single member of our team. Thank you for your passion, dedication, and team spirit. See you at the next competition!
